Nature is definitely Bonaire’s biggest attraction, both above and below water. Underwater the colors and movements will enchant you while the unknown sounds resonate in your ears. Coral, fish, lobsters, snails and other living creatures inhabit Bonaire’s healthy reefs and with some luck you’ll even see one of our dolphins! Visit one of the webcams to get a first impression of life underwater.
On the land you will find the beautiful and soothing landscapes of Bonaire, evolved from millions of years of sun, wind, water movements and earthquakes. Different types of cactus, dividivi trees and many other flora form a landscape together with fossil coral, natural caves and volcanic rock. In this landscape, it is a paradise for birds, especially our flamingos (on Bonaire live more flamingos than humans!) and parrots. On the ground, besides the big iguanas and lizards, you will notice the many wild donkeys and goats. On the wall surrounding Tropicana Apartments, iguanas often sunbathe and in the garden you will find a family of parrots. Gliding over the island you will see beautiful cloud formations that, together with the wind, keep the temperature pleasurable.
